Rule 9
In case of connection of current transformer (Si
T.) or potential transformer (PT) or both:
(1) Regardless of what is written in Rule 8, in case of theft of electricity in a house or building equipped with an energy meter used by a current transformer or potential transformer in the following manner, the calculation and determination of the electricity unit consumed will be done on the basis of engineering principles:-
(a) one or both of the wires of the current transformer or the potential transformer or both have been stripped or reversed or burnt, or
(b) adopted other technology.
(2) The peak demand of the stolen time shall also be assessed on the basis of engineering principles.
(3) If the stolen electricity unit cannot be determined according to sub-rule (2), the electricity stolen and consumed will be determined on the basis of the following formula on the basis of the highest demand during the period from the month before the discovery of the fact of the electricity theft or the previous one year. The unit will be determined by:- Unit of electricity consumed ≠ Maximum demand × load factor × hour/day × day/year
